Astragalus is a perennial herb native to China and elsewhere in Asia. It grows tall, up to 1 metre, and spreads somewhat. Only roots from mature plants (three years+) should be harvested. Known for its wide array of medicinal uses, Astragalus is a very valuable herb for the home medicine garden. Medicinal uses include immune boosting, kidney health, circulation improvement, increase stamina, and as part of holistic cancer treatment.
