Black currants are a must have for any forest garden. Like other members of the Ribes genus, they produce well in shady conditions, though will do best with a mix of sun and shade. Fast growing compact shrubs produce tart black berries, the flavour of which varies from cultivar to cultivar. Ripe early to mid summer. They make an outstanding jam or jelly and are excellent added to baking or dried and used as raisins. There are many medicinal uses of this plant. Self fertile.
Titania produces very well and has larger berries than other Black Currants.
