A very hardy nut producing tree. They will grow very well anywhere our native White Pine will, very adaptable, but will produce best in full sun. Korean Pine produces large cones carrying large pine nuts about the size of a pistachio. Will start cropping reliably after ten to fifteen years. Growth starts slow but becomes rapid after the first few years. There is huge potential in this being a high protein staple crop producer. Self-sterile, need at least two (more would be better) to have successful pollination. Pollination is by wind so consider prevailing winds when planting.
