Red Currants are a must have for any forest garden. Like other member of the Ribes genus, they produce well in shady conditions, though will do best with a mix of sun and shade. They produce small, sweet and tart berries that are good eaten fresh or added to preserves, juices or baking. The berries ripen mid summer. Self fertile.
